Romantic Disasters
Your idea of the perfect romance may be the classic knight in shining armour: But if you don’t know the person well, it can just as easily turn into a romantic disaster!
Here’s the types to stay away from:
THE SERIAL ROMANCER:
This person already had three flings the week before you met! Each conquest was convinced that it was getting so serious it was time to introduce him/her to her parents. Well, until they saw their object of affection hand-in-hand with someone else the next day.
What to do: Run as far as you can! This loser majors in breaking hearts and boosting his/her ego in the process. Don’t even shed a tear for them.
THE NOT-SO-SINGLE:
Examples of this species usually appear during the holiday season. They are apparently single for the holiday, but secretly have a girl or guy back home. Meanwhile, they happily play the field and this field- is you! Don’t feel bad about being played the fool because sadly it happens a lot.
What to do: Trust your instincts with this one.
THE SPONGE:
You’ve scrimped and saved up your cash. The Last thing you need is a potential boyfriend/ girlfriend who keeps on conveniently forgetting their wallet at home! And no matter how much they promise to pay back, they never do!
What to do: Confront him or her! Or better yet, start “forgetting” your won wallet at home and see how long he or she sticks around. You deserve better than to be seen as a piggy bank.
ME, MYSELF AND I
He/she has come first in their class since primary school and they’ve just aced all their varsity subjects too! They’re celebrated by their peers as the best guy or girl that has walked on earth, five universities are begging them to sign up. There’s no way all that can be true- especially if it’s all they talk about!
What to do: It’s exhausting to deal with someone like this. They’re definitely into serious relationships, but not for anyone but themselves. A cheerful farewell would be your best move.
MR OR MS RIGHT
Occasionally he or she really does turn up. Trust me, there are actually some decent people out there, who aren’t in a relationship.
