Women, however, are far more skilled in the arts of hiding their affairs, particularly when it comes to handling technology such as emails, texts and social networking sites. According to the researchers, the difference is so great that one in ten male cheats have been exposed as love rats, compared with just one in 20 women.

A shameless 40 per cent of women who have affairs use an ‘alibi friend’ to help them more time to spend with their lover. Men, on the other hand, choose to keep details of their trysts a secret, never telling a soul for fear of being caught. Just six per cent have a regular alibi.

The poll, from IllicitEncounters.com, found that half of men but only 21 per cent of women were found out via text, email or phone call. Researcher Sara Hartley says careless men often leave their mobile phones lying around giving their partners a chance to check-up on them.

She says: “We find men can be surprisingly reckless when it comes to disguising their affairs. “Women are far more careful to log out of private email accounts and Facebook and keep separate email addresses and SIM cards specifically for their lover’s use.

Here are a few tips guys should take note of this Women’s Month:

• Spoil the woman in your life (whether it be your mom, sister, girlfriend) with breakfast (even coffee) in bed on Woman’s Day and on random other days throughout the year.

• This is the biggest cliché but I’ve never heard any woman complain about a box (it should be a box however, not just a small bar) of chocolates or a bunch of flowers!

• Surprise her with a home-cooked meal (not take-aways) every now and then.  This special Woman’s Day weekend is the ideal time to start this new habit.

• Tell her (on a regular basis) that she’s a special person and that you’re so blessed to have her in your life.

• Most importantly – be sincere in whatever you do.

It seems like as women’s shoes are getting higher, men’s shoes are also adding on a few inches. We’re of the camp that’s all about a little stacked heel on a classic-looking boot—anything strappier or skinnier, and man heels start looking a little campy.

Whether it’s Zac Posen’s subtle dog walking shoes to one Fashion Week goer’s towering Nina Riccis, there’s a height for every dude out there. But are we just too wacky? Can you not get enough of meels, or are they just unappetizing?

Finally, men get to walk on stilts all day and see how it feels! (I secretly think they’re hot!) Now if only someone could design something to take care of that prevalent moob (man + boob) problem? Ahem, ahem… LOL.
