Ghana through to next round
Ghana is the first African team from the six pack to make it to the last 16 stages of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
Germany defeated the Black Stars but they come in second place in Group D after Australia did them a favour by beating Serbia. Germany will face Engalnd in Bloemfontein this Sunday – while the only African team so far in the last 16 will take on the USA on Saturday at the Royal Bafoekeng Staduim.
Despite a 2-1 win in their group D encounter last night – neither Australia nor Serbia will be going any further in the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
The encounter at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit was eventful - with a total of 5 yellow cards being shown to the 22 players on the pitch – who had racked up a total of 12 shots on target and 34 fouls.
Socceroos midfielder Tim Cahill told Supersport that despite them not getting through – he is still proud of his team mates and their fans.
