Students up in arms over crime

Students are thinking of bringing firearms to campus for protection after students were robbed at gunpoint at the University of Johannesburg’s Bunting campus.
This week, two female students were robbed of their handbags on campus, and the incident has sparked outrage over the lack of security.  Although security has been beefed-up for the upcoming World Cup, students feel they are still being targeted as victims of crime.
The students were walking to an ATM when two men pointed guns at them and grabbed their handbags. The immediately men sped off. The dazed …

Law Students to do community service

Law students should be prepared to do some time after they graduate.
Cabinet has approved a law that would create community service for legal graduates that will work along the lines of that of doctors.
Justice Minister Jeff Radebe announced to the National Assembly that the Legal Practice Bill will provide a way of reducing costs of justice to citizens. While the interpretation is that it would apply to new legal graduates, it appears it could also apply to lawyers who have been qualified for some time.
The bill is said to provide …

Get back on track!

I know many of you are back to campus after the holidays, so I wanted to give you a few little reminders to keep in the back of your brain.

•    Drinking and driving is a sure-fire way of ruining a life.
2. Really force yourself to go and PAY ATTENTION to class.
There have been many times where I actually took away …
