Does Rihanna have what it takes for movies?

Rihanna is venturing into new waters with her first big-screen acting gig! The singer has signed on for Battleship, the film adaptation of the classic board game, except, you know, with Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgard, and aliens.
The premise makes this one sound like a risky project to use as your big debut, so here’s hoping it’s not yet another singer-to-actor sinker, like Glitter was for Mariah Carey.
What do you think — does Rihanna have what it takes for movies? Or should she stick to her music?

“The Social Network” – The Movie About Facebook

“You don’t get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies…” That’s the tag line for ‘The Social Network‘ an upcoming movie which tells the story of how Mark Zukerberg started Facebook.
The poster was released earlier this week with actor Jesse Eisenberg in his role as the Facebook CEO and co-founder.
Justin Timberlake portrays Sean Parker, Facebook’s founding president and a co-founder of the original Napster.

Prawn Again

By Andy Davis
When you finally get to see District 9 next week, the thing you need to keep in mind is that when it was released in the US it knocked GI Joe off the top of the box office.

D-9 made 37.5 million dollars in it’s opening weekend. And it cost …

Bruno: The Folly and the Genius

Bruno: The Folly and the Genius
by Roger Young
We’ll assume that you’ve seen Bruno by now. First off, if you’re offended by anything that happens in Bruno you are an idiot, which is kind of the point.  Secondly, what Sascha Baron Cohen is trying to do is not so much entertainment but more like activism. Stealth activism. The fact that one of the many things he deflates during the course of Bruno is celebrity activism shows either his deep dedication to, or his deep disregard for, his own message.
At the public …
