What the Hell Is Die Antwoord?

What’s the answer? We don’t quite know, and neither do Die Antwoord, South Africa’s new global music phenomenon, but we do know the question – why’s everyone loving our creative artists right now?

At Oppikoppi 2009 – the insane music festival in the veld, which last year was branded “Smoorverlief” – the craziest night by far was the last one, when Die Antwoord hijacked the stage. I was standing near the back of a crowd that easily numbered six thousand; all the way to the front there were arms pumping the …

Man Heels – Are Meels Rad Or Bad?

Hold onto your heels, ladies—there’s a new customer in town. Men. The newest trend to hit the fashion runways are meels (men + heels) coupled with meggings (man + leggings). Marjan Pejoski is the designer responsible for this fashion forward move. He’s now making meel-high strides in the area of gender equity.
It seems like as women’s shoes are getting higher, men’s shoes are also adding on a few inches. We’re of the camp that’s all about a little stacked heel on a classic-looking boot—anything strappier or skinnier, and man heels …

Outrage as Jesus appears on PLAYBOY mag

Playboy magazine has pulled the plug on its Portuguese edition after it ran a photo shoot featuring Jesus Christ among topless models.
The pictures show a long-haired, glowing Jesus watching two models in a lesbian clinch, standing next to a prostitute and looking over the shoulder of a woman reading a book. A final, heavily tattooed woman, appears to have died in his arms.
The spread was ostensibly a tribute to Nobel Prize-winning author Jose Saramago’s The Gospel According to Jesus Christ, but Hugh Hefner’s headquarters have reacted with outrage. Theresa Hennessy, …

2 year old puffs 40 ciggies a day!

He’s taking a deep drag on his cigarette… and he’s only 2!
This Indonesian toddler is certainly far too unfit to run around with other children – and his condition is set to rapidly deteriorate. But, despite local officials’ offer to buy the Rizal family a new car if the boy quits, his parents feel unable to stop him because he throws massive tantrums if they don’t indulge him.
His mother, Diana, 26, wept: “He’s totally addicted. If he doesn’t get cigarettes, he gets angry and screams and batters his head against …

PAC-man is 30!

“If Pac-man had affected us as kids, we’d all be running around in dark rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive electronic music.” So goes UK comedian Marcus Brigstocke’s most famous joke.
But while the craze had kind of faded by the end of the 1990s, Pac-man lives on. In fact, on Saturday the seminal 1980s arcade game reached the ripe old age of 30.
Google brought the occasion to global attention on Friday by releasing its first ever interactive Google Doodle – a fully playable version of Pac-man, with a specially …

The truth is out: Guys tell more lies!

Lies, lies, lies! A survey by the Science Museum has revealed that men are more likely to lie than women.
The study found that the average male tells 1 092 lies every year – roughly three a day. Where by the average woman will lie 728 times a year – around twice a day.
And while men said their lies were most likely to relate to their drinking habits, the most popular female fib is “Nothing’s wrong, I’m fine” – hides their true feelings.
Men are also less likely to feel guilty about …
