Gautrain is on Track

The Gautrain has officially gone live – with the first train leaving at 5:30 this morning from the Sandton Station to OR Tambo International Airport.
Technical glitches in the system have now been resolved and the train is running smoothly between its Sandton, Malboro and Rhodesfield Stations.  A trip to the airport will cost R100 for commuters who are going to catch a flight at the airport – and will take less than 15 minutes for the train which travels at around 160km/h.

News Wrap: Political drama!

So like, what’s this going on in our country?

First it was ANC Youth League President Julius Malema’s “Kill the Boer” statements. Then it the murder of AWB leader Eugene Terrblanche at his farm. This caused an uproar at the court case of those accused of his murder, with episodes of racial divisions and fighting in Ventersdorp.

This is the call to all South Africans to mark 100 days to the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
Several parties have been planned parties for today. Taking the lead is South African Tourism, which has hooked up with the Johannesburg Tourism Company to celebrate the 100-day mark.
