Bafana won their group match against France 2-0 but it was not enough to secure them a place in the last 16 of the tournament.

28 accused have been convicted in Mzansi’s World Cup Courts since they opened on the 28th of May.
One of the latest convictions was a 26 year old man who was sentenced to 20 months behind bars – after he tried to steal a duvet cover from a tourist bus. National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Mthunzi Mhaga reportedly told the South African Press Agency that 76 cases have been filed in the courts so far – of which 30 cases were finalised.

A new report has found that 89.9 percent of people want the vuvuzela to be banned from he 2010 FIFA World Cup.
This is according to banvuvuzela.com which was created to allow people to vote either for or against the banning of the unofficial national instrument of Mzansi.
The site has so far received over 83 000 votes – with just under 75 000 people supporting a motion to ban the horn.

The Gautrain has officially gone live – with the first train leaving at 5:30 this morning from the Sandton Station to OR Tambo International Airport.
Technical glitches in the system have now been resolved and the train is running smoothly between its Sandton, Malboro and Rhodesfield Stations. A trip to the airport will cost R100 for commuters who are going to catch a flight at the airport – and will take less than 15 minutes for the train which travels at around 160km/h.
