Student Village and Kia bring the power to surprise you to campus

Enough sitting around watching the cars go by! Take a spin in a new Kia Picanto, listen to some tunes and get around campus faster. Look out for your Kia campus brand ambassador (CBA) and get behind the wheel to test drive this sexy, sporty model.

Stylish and fun (just like the Picanto), the Kia CBAs will be at TUT, UCT, UJ, Stellenbosch, UKZN, Wits and Open Window to offer test drives and advice to students. They’ll also be giving a lucky few VIP chauffer services at special events.

Wits CBA Tsholofelo Gantse says: “For me being a Kia brand ambassador means taking people through the experience of driving a great car and giving them a great brand experience with my Picanto.”

Affordable, cute-looking and perfect for pimping your street cred on campus, the Kia Picanto is everything a student needs. Open Window CBA Jarryd Cox says the car is: ”fuel efficient and packed with features that make you feel like you're driving a luxury car four times more expensive.”

These features include Bluetooth, AUX/iPod/USB connections, ABS and power steering. An extra addition on the 1.0 LX and 1.2 EX models is the automatic light control with “welcome home and escort” modes.

Another important feature of the car that was tested by the CBA’s was safety. This was done on Zwartkop Race Track. Using the skid pad to simulate wet driving conditions, the instructors showed the CBAs how to handle themselves in dangerous conditions.

Kia brand ambassadors will be driving the Picanto on and off campus offering anyone a chance for a test drive. They will also be organising VIP chauffer services for students attending big functions or events.
