Riaad Moosa and his crew are set to hit the 56th BFI London Film Festival.

This marks a proud moment for producers Ronnie Apteker, Robbie Thorpe and South Africa. Materiel which stars Riaad Moosa, Vincent Ebrahim and Joey Rasdien, provides humorous insight into Muslim culture in South Africa. As funny as it is, Material takes a serious look at the difficulties and drama a young man in a religious surrounding faces.

At times you will be crying from laughter and other times crying from the clever drama hidden in this movie.

Material is on an epic road trip and making major noise at every stop. Last week the film was well received at the Montreal Film Festival. At the start of October Material goes to Busan in South Korea, for the biggest Asian film festival and directly after Busan it goes to London for the festival.

Riaad, whom has just finished filming A long Walk to Freedom will be at the festival along with producers Apteker Thorpe and the entire film crew.

South Africans living in the UK and who are missing home should definitely go watch the film and meet the stars. As for everyone else, prepare to be entertained, South African style.

Festival Dates:

THU 11 OCT 21:00 SCREEN ON THE GREEN
SAT 13 OCT 13:00 CINE LUMIERE
MON 15 OCT 13:15 NFT3*
