Run Jozi 10 kilometre night race
Take Human Rights Day in your stride this year. In fact take a 10km stride and experience why Johannesburg is a beautiful city rich with history.
Nike have announced the “Nike Run Free. Run Jozi 10 kilometre night race”. Join 10 000 runners as they take to the streets of Johannesburg for a cool night run. The run starts just before Nelson Mandela Bridge and ends at Mary Fitzgerald in Newtown.
The route will take runners past great landmarks such as, City Hall, Luthuli House, Constitutional Hill, Jeppe Police Station, Johannesburg Stadium and Ponte Tower. Starting at 19:00 Nike offers runners the chance to see the colours of Jozi at night from the road. A chance not often availible.
In preparation for the event Nike unveiled the “race day tee, which is a bright coloured race tee, featuring pre-printed race numbers. All runners will be required to run in the official race day tee, which will be made available from early March during the race-pack collection period.”
The race gives people the chance to be part of a global event, the “Nike We Run City 10K world series tour” in which similar races are being run in locations such as Buenos Aires (Argentina), Mexico City (Mexico), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).
